    The String Quartet no in D flat, opus , was completed on 11 March at Repino and premièred in Moscow on the 14 June of that year at the USSR Composers’ Club in Moscow by the Beethoven Quartet (Dmitri Tsïganov, Nikolai Zabavnikov, Fyodor Druzhinin and Sergei Shirinsky). It is the second in a set of four quartets each dedicated to an individual member of the Beethoven String Quartet.
